Meet The Staff

Brian Mitchell, President/ Founder

 

Brian first got into the construction industry in 2002 while attending school at UC Davis.  Eager to learn about business and make some extra money while going to school, he took on an internship in which he started up and ran a small painting business in his home town of Albany, CA.  For the next two summers he would go on to be one of the companies top performers, later to be hired on by another college painting internship program as a District Manager.  That year Brian successfully recruited, trained, and managed twelve branch managers, producing over $800,000 in revenue setting the record for the most any first year DM had done in company history.  He was then promoted to Co-Vice President of the Northern California division and helped grow the company to over $3,000,000 in revenue.  Upon graduation from UC Davis, Brian decided to go off on his own and ultimately launched Signature Painting and Construction, Inc.  Shortly after Signature was formed, Brian was approached by a prominent Manager/Owner of a number of apartment communities in the North Bay.  They solicited his help in painting and performing some smaller construction jobs on some of his properties.  Upon completion, Brian decided that he wanted to concentrate his focus on the HOA, Multi-Family, and Commercial sector due to it’s growth potential.  To this day, Signature has performed numerous painting and construction projects for property manages, building owners, and investors throughout Northern California.  Brian attributes the success of Signature Painting and Construction to the elite team of industry professionals that they have assembled and their ability to build great relationships with the clients that they service.

Erik Oller, Vice President

Erik first began working in the construction industry in 1999. He spent the next five years managing and developing a division for one of the largest painting contractors in the state of California. In 2004 Erik began working with a multi-billion dollar global corporation. Over the next few years Erik took on many different roles and responsibilities within this large company. Through this experience Erik became uniquely versed in Customer Solutions and Logistics. In 2008 Erik Graduated with a Masters in Business Administration from University of California, Irvine.  Shortly after this Erik returned to the construction industry as an independent consultant. Erik’s grasp of the industry and his unique work history have made him an integral part of successful development.  Erik is now working with Signature Painting and Construction and brings with him many years of experience and some unique ideas that have helped to make Signature Painting and Construction one of the premier HOA, Multi-Unit, and Commercial Construction Specialists in the Area.

Yama Sekander, Superintendent

Yama has been working in the HOA painting industry for over 18 years.  He started his career working for one of the largest painting contractors in Northern California.  After starting as a helper, he worked his way up to a foreman position within a year and a half, making him the youngest foreman in the companies history.  He later worked for two other Contra Costa County based companies and helped develop systems that greatly increased their production efficiency.  In 2005, Yama decided to go off on his own to start his own painting company, but due to the down turn in the economy he decided to seek employment in 2007.  Yama was hired onto Signature Painting and Construction originally as a working foreman, but as the company grew he was quickly promoted to the superintendent role in charge of all painting projects in Northern California.  Yama currently manages over 40 employees and is in charge of all day to day operations with regards to the painting division.  When Yama is not working he enjoys working out,  spending time with his children, and coaching the local youth football team in Concord.

Charlie Johnson, Superintendent (Not pictured)

Charlie has been working in the construction industry for 18 years.  He started off his career in custom home building in Michigan, and upon moving back to California and proceeded to work as a master carpenter for some of the most reputable companies in the Bay Area.  Eventually Charlie decided to start his own General Construction company and built a reputable name for himself throughout the greater Bay Area doing everything from remodeling, roofing, new construction, and general paving.  Charlie and Brian have known each other since childhood having both grown up in Albany, CA.  Often times Brian would solicit Charlie’s help on some of the more challenging construction projects that Signature faced.  In 2009, Brian approached Charlie with the opportunity to become Signature Painting and Construction’s full-time construction superintendent.  Charlie brings to Signature a vast array of experience in all facets of construction including but not limited to carpentry, roofing, and paving.

 We are excited to be welcoming Mike Whitter to the Signature Painting & Construction, Inc family early January 2013!

Our team out in the field consists of highly qualified men whose main focus is to not only do a great job, but to do it correctly. We make sure our staff is polite, professional, and knowledgeable.  We are always educating and training our staff with the newest procedures and safety awareness procedures.
